Verification services for organisations

Verification services, delivered at the source.

We confirm what happened, with the people who were there.

Our verification desk checks the claims in a CV or a bid with the body that holds the answer: the university, the former employer, the professional register, the company registry. Each engagement is scoped and priced for you under a written agreement. Nothing here is bought through the Can0nical app.

How every check works

  1. Step 1

    Consent first

The person being checked signs a consent form naming each check and each source. No consent, no check.

  2. Step 2

    Ask the source

We contact the body that holds the answer and find its contact details ourselves. We never rely on a number the candidate supplied.

  3. Step 3

    A signed report

Every claim comes back with one outcome, the source and the date it was checked. A named person on our desk signs the report, and every discrepancy is reviewed twice before it reaches you.

The services

Each one is delivered by our desk and can be combined into one engagement.

Verification and screening

What a candidate claims, confirmed with the body that holds the answer.

  • Academic verification

Institution, qualification, dates and grade confirmed with the issuing body, and the institution’s accreditation checked.

  • Employment verification

Job title and dates confirmed with the former employer’s HR team, and the reason for leaving where they will share it.

  • Full CV verification

Every employer, qualification and licence on a CV checked, with gaps and overlaps in the timeline flagged.

  • Professional licence and membership checks

Current standing confirmed with the body that licenses the profession.

  • Structured reference checks

The same questions put to every referee, reached through their organisation, with the answers recorded word for word.

  • Certificate of Good Conduct authentication

A police clearance certificate the candidate provides, confirmed as genuine with the authority that issued it.

  • Company and directorship checks

A business the candidate says they ran: that it exists, and who its directors are, from the company registry.

  • Remote-hire verification pack

Qualifications and employment history checked in one pack, for employers hiring from Kenya, Nigeria, India, Pakistan or the Philippines.

Hiring and HR

Hiring on evidence, and answering for your own records.

  • Skills-based hiring design

For employers who have dropped degree requirements: what evidence to ask for instead, and how to weigh it.

  • Remote-hire facilitation

Verification, contract set-up and onboarding checks for employers hiring across borders.

  • Graduate and trainee intake

Batch verification for a graduate or trainee cohort, run as one project.

  • Inbound verification desk

We answer the “did this person work for you?” requests your organisation receives, under your instructions.

  • Staff file digitisation and audit

Existing personnel files re-checked against their sources and put in order.

  • HR data-protection set-up

Consent forms, retention schedules and registration readiness for the personal data your HR team holds.

Procurement and tenders

Checks on suppliers, subcontractors and the people named in a bid.

  • Supplier and vendor verification

That a supplier exists, who its directors are, and that the past contracts it claims are real.

  • Key-personnel verification for bids

The CVs of the staff named in a bid, verified before you submit it.

  • Subcontractor vetting

Registry, licence and past-client checks on a subcontractor before you take them on.

Programmes and funded projects

Independent confirmation that funded work was delivered.

  • Verification for skills programmes

Confirmation, from their clients and employers, that a programme’s graduates went on to deliver real work.

  • Verification of donor-funded outputs

Confirmation that a funded project delivered what it reported, from the people who received it.

Rules we keep

  • The source confirms, not our staff

Our desk gathers the answer. An outcome rests on the source’s own reply, letter or register entry, and every line of the report cites it.

  • We record, we do not grade

We report who confirmed what, and when. We never score how good someone’s work was.

  • Separate from the Can0nical app

A check never appears on anyone’s Can0nical profile and never changes their Integrity Score.

  • No criminal record searches

We authenticate a certificate the candidate brings. Searches stay with the authorities.

  • Deletion reaches everything

When the person checked asks to be erased, their check file goes too.

Checking a candidate’s Can0nical record yourself is a different thing, and needs no engagement at all: what an employer can check on a verified work record.
