Are these tools really free?
Yes. No account, no card, no watermark on the PDF, no cap on how many you make, and no trial that expires. They are free because they cost us almost nothing to run: nothing is stored and nothing is processed on a server.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the tool, fill it in, download the PDF. Nothing asks who you are.
Does anything I type get uploaded?
No. Both tools run entirely in your browser and write nothing to a database. Your client names, rates and amounts never reach us, which is also why we cannot recover a document you closed without downloading.
Can I use the documents commercially?
Yes. They are your documents. Send them to clients, keep them for your records, bill from them.
What does a Can0nical account add?
Confirmation. A document you generate here is one you wrote about yourself, which is useful but proves nothing. With a free account, the client who received the work confirms it by a link with no account of their own, and that confirmed record is permanent and checkable by anyone.
